v Los Gauchos

Stout FC has a new name  JETBLUE.   we were given uniforms by Jet Blue and we are thankful.  This season in the Oakland Park 7v7 we have many new player that we have recruited from Hollywood's Dowdy field.  Over the past 2 months Harry and I have been visiting the field on the corner of Johnson and Dixie.  The returning players are PK, Harry, Paul, Bubblegum, and Joel.  New players include Jack, Mikel, Stephen, Nico, and Chichi.

Our first game was Saturday April 6.  We played the runner ups of last years season Los Gauchos.  breakdown:  1st 15 minutes 0-0.  we had very little offense but the defense was strong.  we did have a couple of set pieces but very unorganized.  PK made two great saves on long range blasts and several other shots on goal were off target.

2nd 15.  The first goal was strange a ball went into the box and their man fell down.  the ball landed at his feet and he kick it toward the goal where his player was close and put it in.  our players protested that a player on the ground cannot pass the ball, but it was a goal none the less.  2 more goals were scored before half and we were not looking so good.

3rd 15   Much better offence.  We moved the ball.  Had shots on goal.  We got another set piece-corner kick.  Paul came from the defence position and went near post.  Stephen hit the cross perfectly to the near post and Paul scored the first goal of the season.  reminded me of Spain's Puyol who is so effective coming from the defensive position to score headers.  we scored another goal off of a penalty given from a hand ball in the box.  2-3   we are looking much better

4th 15   a couple of lapses allow 2 goals.

final 2-5

v Tormex

We played well this game but lost 2-4.  We had a full squad of 12.  PK, Harry, Dirk, Doug, Tim, Jeremy, Chris, Bubblegum, Oral, Rowand, Amat, Robbie.  We scored on a nice set piece with Amat assisitng on Jeremy's score.  That goal put us up 2-1.

We looked really good, but  Tormex scored in the last few minutes of the first half giving them the momentum they would carry into the second half to give them a 4-2 win.

After the game Harry, Paul, Robbie, PK, and myself went to Stout to watch the end of Guatemala v USA.

v JEVI 2-2

Stout fc v JEVI
Had a good turn out for this game  12 total(Dirk, Doug, Jeremy, Tim, Bubblegum, Orale, Chris, Anderson, Aldofo, Thomas, Harry and me. Wierd game.  Thomas had very few saves.  Most shots were well wide or in the back of the net.  Chris and Jeremy scored one each in first half.  Other team was not bad but our defense played well enough and everyone was subbing when they were tired.

2-0 half

We had out chances in early second half and could gave been up 3-0 or even 4 but several shots were low and wide.  JEVI scored on a 2 v2   With about 15 mins left. We looked tired  and slow     Left wing nailed it far post Thomas laid out and says he touched it but it hit the back of the net.  No problem.  Only a few minutes left.  2-1

but then  dirk made an "overlapping run" which were his words.  it looked as though he was trying to steal the ball on the other teams half and was late. JEVI had 3 on 2 quickly with Doug and aldofo.   Other team took it all the way inside the 18 made a move and blasted it near post.  Thomas looked terrible but it was point blank.

That was the second goal. 2-2

Second half lasted 35 minutes and other team were on the hunt for the win.  Long 5 extra minutes.
Stout looked so much better. Oral was nice to have.  We had a great chance near the end of the game but their keeper made an excellent 1v1 save.

Harry Thomas and I went to the Stout Pub.  We found four places open at the end of the bar.  There were a bunch of girls sitting nearby and we all watched the end of the miserable UM game.  I bought Thomas and myself a 34 oz left handed milk stout and Harry drank two vodkas and soda.  Before we left Harry bought a round of shots. Baby guinness.
